To prepare for registration you will need:
- An e-mail address - to use to create an account before you register. If you've applied before or already have an account, please Sign in.
- Your National Insurance Number - you can find it on your National Insurance card, benefit letter, payslip or P60. For example, 'QQ 12 34 56 C'.
- Employer detail - your employer's name, their job title, address and the date you started working there.
- Evidence that you are qualified to work.
You'll need to either:
- hold a copy of your recognised care qualification and you will need to upload a copy of your qualification when registering. (More information to help you find your qualification)
or
- if you're applying as social care worker but don't have one of the required qualifications, you can register through a process called employer assessment. This is when your employer can assess you and let us know that you have the right skills and knowledge to work in social care. Speak to your manager to see if they can support you to register this way.
- The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate from within the last three years. You'll need to find your DBS number which is in the top right-hand corner of your certificate and starts with "00".
- Payment details - you'll need a debit or credit card to pay your non-refundable application fee. If you want to set up a Direct Debit, you'll also need your bank account number and sort code.
If you gained your qualification outside the UK, and don't have a National Insurance number, find out which documents we need and how to send them.
If you have a place on a social work course in Wales, we'll email you instructions on how to link your account to your university. Please wait for this email before you apply.
